Tennessee Baseball Camps

Youth Summer Camp

Session 1: June 19-22 / Session 2: June 26-29

@ Lindsey Nelson Stadium (1511 Pat Summitt Street, Knoxville TN, 37996)

All instruction and games will take place at Lindsey Nelson Stadium (In the event of bad weather we may move to the indoor facility, or move camp indoors at the stadium.)
We will have camp no matter what the weather is.

Description

University of Tennessee Summer Baseball Camp will provide an opportunity for players, ages 6 – 11 to learn the fundamentals of baseball. All of the skills that will be taught are the same skills used by the UT Volunteer Baseball Players. Skills taught include proper throwing technique, Fundamentals of fielding and basic hitting skills. Many of the drills that will be taught are used on a daily basis by the Volunteer baseball players. Campers will be able compete against each other in the skills they learn during the week. Each day will end with a game to learn how to play as a team. This will be an extremely informative and fun filled camp for players learning the game. All of these drills are taught with the idea that they can be practiced at home by themselves or with a partner. This will also be a great opportunity to meet and get to know some of the UT Baseball coaches along with other respected coaches from around the area.

Ages/Ability

Open to all players ages 6-11 and any skill level.

Food/Drink

During breaks there will be water and sports drinks provided. Campers will be provided time for a lunch break each day. Campers are responsible for bringing their own lunch. Lunch WILL NOT be provided.

Parking

Parking is free on the street and is first come, first serve. Anyone parking in one of the lots close to Lindsay Nelson Stadium will need to purchase a pass at Parking and Transit Services at 2121 Stephenson Drive. Middle School and High School Infield and Outfield Defense Camp

Description

This will cover all of the basic fundamentals on defense that will be needed in order to excel at the next level. This camp will start with fundamentals and progress into some more advanced fielding techniques. The players will not only learn the physical fundamentals needed in order to be prepared, they will also go through situational games that will help them know what to do when the play comes to them. This will dive into the next level of the positions and provide insight into daily routines in order to become a better baseball player.

Description

This camp will be focused on all aspects of the offensive game. There will be fundamental drills that will focus on the main core principles to the swing along with talks given about the proper approach to take while hitting. We will cover the inside game and the situations that a player may be called upon to execute. The camp will provide the opportunity to take many swings aimed at improving your hitting ability. It will be an excellent opportunity for players to help round out their offensive game and take it to the next level.

All instruction and games will take place at Lindsey Nelson Stadium (In the event of bad weather we may move to the indoor facility, or move camp indoors at the stadium.)
We will have camp no matter what the weather is.

Description

This camp is designed for the advancement of the Pitching and Catching position. It will be run by the UT Baseball Staff other coaches from around the area. This camp will be designed around the idea of bettering your fundamentals at these specific positions. It will cover all aspects of Pitching and Catching both individually and how they work with one another.

We will cover everything from: philosophy, make-up, pitching vs. throwing, basic fundamentals, fielding your position, and you will throw a bull pen as well. These three hours will be solely dedicated to your betterment as a pitcher, and allow you to take with you valuable information that you will need for future reference. This is different from most other camps because of the focus that goes into the pitching and catching positions specifically.

Catchers will go through extensive drill work to focus on the fundamentals needed in order to better your game. These will not be limited to the physical game only. We will cover everything from receiving, blocking, throwing, footwork, pitcher/catcher relationships, tempo, posture, make-up, communication…etc. The core values of our catching position will be taught here in this camp and will allow for the development of your game at a high level.

Any skill level welcome and open to any player who will be attending Middle School or High School in the fall of 2017.

We will provide water and adequate water breaks to stay hydrated. You are welcome to bring any other snack or refreshment needed during the time.
