2018 Christmas Showcase Camp
December 15-16, 2018
Primary Location @ Neyland-Thompson Sports Center located on the main UT campus. (1704 Johnny Majors Drive, Knoxville, TN 37996)
Our most popular two-day camp will teach you the fundamentals and drills used by the UT softball team, focusing on: hitting for power and average, increasing bat speed, mental game strategies, speed developing drills, base running, throwing and defensive skills. Clinicians will include all members of the UT softball coaching staff, current and former players, and numerous guest college coaches from throughout the Southeast Region. Campers will have the opportunity to both improve their game and showcase their skills for numerous college programs. Pitchers and Catchers can sign-up for an additional 3 hours of position specific instruction.
Open to all girls, ages 8-18 (cannot be enrolled in college yet) and skill levels from beginner to advanced.
Saturday, 2pm to 8pm and Sunday, 8am to 1pm.
It is important to note that we may need to alter the schedule to work around any football bowl preparations or weather
The pitching option (additional $85) will run Saturday, December 15th from 10am to 1pm
The catching option (additional $85) will run Sunday, December 16th from 2pm to 5pm

All but $100 will be refunded if you cancel (via e-mail) by 9pm EST on December 10th. No refunds are possible after that.
There doesn’t seem to be an option to pay just the $100 deposit?
In order to speed up check in on the day of camp, we have gone to 100% pre-pay.
We have also cut the time down for refunds to 3-5 business days. In the event that you need to cancel, we can return all of your funds (minus the $100 deposit) back to your credit card relatively quickly.
Will the scheduled times change at all?
It’s very possible! The main instruction area we'll be using for our winter camps is the indoor football facility (Neyland-Thompson Sports Center). As such, we may have to adjust times around football's bowl practice schedule or have to work around the weather. As such, the times may be altered at the coach’s discretion to facilitate instruction. Any time changes will be posted immediately on the camps website: tennesseesportcamps.com/womenssoftball/
An e-mail will also be sent to the e-mail address you entered when registering. Please check the camp's website prior to departing for the camp and check your e-mail often as camp approaches.
Are there any hotels near campus that have discount rates?

Where will the camp be and how do I get there?
Our winter camps will be held on the University of Tennessee's main campus in Knoxville.
The address for the HPER Gym where the pitching and catching options will be is: 1914 Andy Holt Ave, Knoxville, TN 37996.
We will be using three main buildings for the Christmas Camp: the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center; the Health, Physical Education & Recreation building (HPER Gym) and the batting cages at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Please familiarize yourself with the campus layout using the above link prior to attending the camp.

When and where do we go to check-in?
For those registered for the pitching option: check-in will begin at 9:30 am at the North entrance to the Health, Physical Education & Recreation building (HPR Gym) along Andy Holt Ave. The earlier you arrive the quicker you can be processed and admitted. You will not need to recheck-in for the main camp.
For the Christmas Camp: check-in will begin at 1:00 pm and be held at the Northeast entrance of the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center at the corner of Lake Loudoun Blvd. and Johnny Majors Dr. The earlier you arrive the quicker you can be processed and admitted. If you are also doing the catching option, you will be checked-in during this time.
What should I bring?
Campers should bring their glove, batting helmet, bat, and batting gloves - please make sure everything is clearly marked. Please bring tennis shoes, as cleats are not allowed in any of the indoor areas. If you are signed up for the catching option, you should bring your catching gear (on the second day). Also, please make sure your child has appropriate cold-weather gear to get between buildings, as well as, to and from your vehicle.
There will be a lunch\dinner break on the first day where parents can take their kids to a large number of local restaurants or campers can bring their own sack lunch. There will be no lunch break on the second day (to allow campers more time to commute home) so campers are encouraged to consume a filling breakfast and bring a small snack for the mid-camp 15 minute break.
Pitchers DO NOT need to bring someone to catch for them at any of our camps
What happens if there is an injury?
We will have a certified trainer on site to deal with any injuries. Unlike past years, campers will need to have their own health insurance to participate. Providing the name of your carrier and policy number is part of the registration.
Can parents stay and watch?
Absolutely! However, parents are asked to stay off of all instructional areas.
Is the non-refundable deposit really non-refundable? What is the cancellation policy?
Yes. Because we hire staff based on the incoming number of applications, we have to be consistent in making the deposits non-refundable. Also, to stay in line with NCAA rules, we must be consistent in having you understand that the deposit is non-refundable. Regardless of high school sports's schedules, making All-Star teams, family circumstances, injury, weather or sickness, it is important that you understand this policy.
When you register, you pay the full amount for camp. If you cancel at any time prior to 9pm (Eastern Standard Time) on December 10th, we will refund all but the $100 deposit back to your credit card (you should see it within 3-5 business days). There can be no refunds after December 10th.
Will there be a camp store to purchase UT Softball merchandise?
Yes, a camp store will be available before, during and following the camp. Campers will be able to purchase a variety of UT softball clothing and merchandise. The store will accept cash, Visa or MasterCard.
