KAREN WEEKLY SLAP AND SPEED CAMP

Date: November 16-17, 2013

Cost:
  • $150 (plus $10 online registration fee) Camp Full

Description: This two-day clinic will teach students the slap/speed skills and strategies utilized by the University of Tennessee softball program. Coach Karen Weekly has developed five All-American collegiate slappers in the last eight years. In addition, every four-year slapper who has played at the University of Tennessee has been drafted by the professional league or played with the US National Team. She is known nationally for developing players who master the short game and create opportunities on the base paths. Instruction will focus on bunting, slapping, base running and stealing. Students will come away with a greater ability to maximize their speed while pressuring the other team's defense.

Ages\Ability: Open to all girls, ages 10-18 (cannot be enrolled in college yet) and skill levels from beginner to advanced.

Time: Saturday, Noon to 6pm and Sunday 9am to 1pm. It is important to note that we may need to alter the schedule to work around any weather issues or football’s need of the facility.

Primary Location: Neyland-Thompson Sports Center located on the main UT Campus.



UT SOFTBALL CHRISTMAS CAMP

Date: December 21-22, 2013

  • $175 per Camper Camp Full

  • *Registration requires a minimum payment of $100. This is a non-refundable deposit.

Description: This two day camp, will teach you the fundamentals and drills used by the UT Lady Vols, to reach the highest levels of collegiate softball. These are the same techniques featured in USA Softball Videos authored by Coach Weekly on Hitting and Circuit Training as well as the Tennessee Way Video Series on softball fundamentals. You will also be taught mental game strategies, conditioning drills, and base running, as well as the most current hitting and fielding drills. Clinicians will include all members of the Lady Vol Staff, current and former players, and numerous guest college coaches from throughout the Southeast Region. This will be an extremely informative and fun filled camp.

Pitching Option - SOLD OUT

We’ve also incorporated pitching into this camp (scheduled for Saturday, 9:00 am -1 pm), pitchers will be able to receive complete game instruction in one camp (hitting, fielding and pitching). In addition the many college coaches we bring in for our Christmas Camp will be able to see and evaluate prospective pitchers. The additional pitching option will be limited to the first 100 pitchers who sign up due to space limitations.

Time: Saturday, 2pm to 8pm and Sunday, 9am to 3pm. It is important to note that we may need to alter the schedule to work around any football bowl preparations or weather.

Primary Location: Neyland-Thompson Sports Center located on the main UT campus.

Food: There will be a 40-minute dinner break on Saturday and a 45-minute lunch break on Sunday. Campers can bring a sack lunch or they can run out to a local restaurant (there are many located 5 minutes away on Cumberland Avenue).






Note: The University may postpone or cancel this event due to circumstances or conditions beyond its control, such as, but not limited to, natural disasters, acts or war, acts of God, or public health emergencies. Neither party shall be liable for damages for delay or default if such delay or default is caused by circumstances or conditions beyond its control, such as, but not limited to, natural disasters, acts of war, acts of God, or health emergencies. The Parties will consult with other to determine if the event can be rescheduled.

It is not permissible for boosters to provide expenses for individuals to attend any of the Tennessee Sports Camps. Expenses include but are not limited to, lodging meals, transportation, and/or camp tuition.

All of Tennessee Sports Camps are open to any and all entrants.
